Several employees were recently promoted to assistant vice president at QBE Regional Insurance, parent company of property and casualty insurers General Casualty (Sun Prairie) and Unigard (Bellevue, Wash).
Wayne Clark, assistant vice president of corporate services, has 28 years of fleet and facilities experience. He’s been with the company for 16 years and earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Viterbo College (La Crosse, Wis.).
Mike Connor, a native of Cherry Valley, Ill., was named assistant vice president of enterprise data management at QBE Regional. He joined the company in March 2007 and brings 25 years of IT and business experience, including seven years in the property and casualty industry. Connor earned a bachelor’s degree from Chicago Musical College, now Roosevelt University.
Sarah Hundt was promoted to assistant vice president of HR development. She has 15 years of experience in the insurance industry and has been with the company since 2000. Hundt has a bachelor’s degree in business from Boise State University (Idaho) and master’s degree in instructional and performance technology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Nancy Schmidt, assistant vice president of HR finance and systems, has been with QBE Regional for five years and has nearly 25 years experience in the finance and systems field. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with bachelors’ degrees in accounting and finance and earned a master’s degree in management and organizational behavior from Silver Lake College (Manitowoc, Wis.). Schmidt is a certified management accountant.
Kelly Wieland was named an assistant vice president within the information systems department. A business administration graduate from Western Washington University (Bellingham, Wash.), Wieland joined the company in 2007 and has worked for 11 years in the IT and insurance fields.
These promotions come on the heels of a recent corporate restructure at QBE Regional resulting from its acquisition by QBE Insurance, when the following employees were named to new positions:
- Peter Christen, president and chief executive officer
- Pete McPartland, chief operating officer
- Chris Alberghini, vice president of strategic planning
- Norm Donelson, chief actuary
- Kip Kobussen, chief administrative officer
- Jennifer Vernon, general counsel
Jeff Dehn was named senior vice president of QBE Regional’s commercial insurance department. These employees were promoted to new positions that will oversee the following commercial insurance specialties:
- Ken Anderson, vice president of auto
- Deirdre Ashlock, vice president of liability
- Jon Borgen, vice president of property
- Karl Fischbach, vice president of small commercial
- Mike Schimke, vice president of workers’ compensation
The following practice leaders oversee personal insurance for General Casualty and Unigard:
- Dan Hill, vice president of auto
- Cindy Woodford, vice president of homeowners
Tom Greenfield was promoted to senior vice president of regional operations. He heads QBE Regional’s eight geographical regions and marketing department.
Several employees were also promoted to positions with QBE the Americas, the New York-based parent company of QBE Regional. They include: Tom French, vice president of marketing communications; Tim Lardinois, director of taxation; and Tom Parker, vice president of internal audit.
