QBE Regional Insurance announces several promotions as part of a corporate restructuring. Six employees at the company’s Sun Prairie office were named to executive level positions in the commercial lines and corporate legal departments.
Ken Anderson was promoted to vice president of commercial auto. He joined General Casualty in 1990 and has more than 20 years of industry experience. Anderson is a graduate of Illinois State University and has earned a CPCU designation.
Jon Borgen was named vice president of commercial property. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, he’s been with the company since 2004 and has more than 20 years of commercial underwriting and management experience.
Dan Hill was promoted to senior vice president of personal lines. He has 30 years of experience in the insurance business. Hill previously headed personal lines at National Farmers Union in Denver, which is also a QBE Regional company.
Sheila Luken was promoted to assistant vice president and corporate counsel of QBE the Americas. Luken joined the company in 2004 and has 13 years of experience in corporate law. She earned a juris doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar, American Bar Association and Association of Corporate Counsel. She also serves as Worldwide Employee Benefits Network national board secretary and Madison Chapter national board liaison.
Mike Schimke was named vice president of workers’ compensation. He joined the company in 2000 as standard lines program manager and is a graduate of St. Norbert College (De Pere, Wis.).
Jennifer Vernon was named vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary after 12 years with the company. Vernon is a licensed attorney in Wisconsin and member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals. She graduated from Carleton College (Minn.) with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned a law degree from the University of Minnesota.
